Based in Hong Kong since 2006, Vinit Bhatia is a Partner with Bain & Company. He plays several roles within the firm including leading the Hong Kong office, serving as co-head of Bain's APAC Performance Improvement practice and sitting on Bain’s global Compensation and Promotion Committee.
In Asia since 2003, initially in Seoul, Vinit has 25+ years of global management consulting experience and expertise working across Asia, Canada, the US and Europe, delivering strategies for leading businesses and advising global clients on a broad range of performance improvement topics, from sustained cost transformations, G&A optimization, productivity improvement to working capital improvement.
He is also a senior member Bain’s Private Equity Practice where he has led over 250 due diligence assignments in China and Asia across multiple industries. He has also worked with a variety of portfolio companies, primarily in business unit strategy and performance improvement, and supported a large number of funds in the region with their fund strategy and operations.
Vinit has also led much of Bain’s work in Hong Kong in the not-for-profit sector. He has led numerous engagements with social enterprises and NGO’s and currently sits on the board and Investment Commitee for Social Impact Partners, a venture philanthropy fund in Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Bain in 1993, Vinit worked with an investment bank in New York.
Vinit holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a B. Comm from Queen’s University (First Class with Honours).
