• Alia Eyres, Chief Executive Officer

    Prior to joining Mother’s Choice as CEO in 2012, Alia was a corporate lawyer in Hong Kong for Hogan Lovells, and in New York for Skadden, Arps. Alia holds a Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Centre and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from the George Washington University, where she was also a member of the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Rowing Team. Alia is the Board Chair of the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, and is on the Board of Advisors of the Hong Kong International Montessori School. She is a judge for the American Chamber of Commerce Women of Influence Awards and Conference Committee. In 2020, she was the Southeast Asian Regional Honoree for Young President Organisation’s Global Impact Award, and recipient of the 14th Annual Compassion Award in 2019. In 2014, she was the first Asian winner of the Macquarie Group Foundation’s David Clarke Social Innovation Fellowship. Alia was born and raised in Hong Kong, where she and her six younger siblings had the opportunity to volunteer at Mother’s Choice through childhood. Alia lives with her husband, an entrepreneur from Ireland, and six young sons.

  • Rebecca Brosnan, Chief Operating Officer

    Rebecca joined the Mother’s Choice Executive Leadership team in 2016 to lead the finance team. She joins us from HKEx, where she served as Managing Director, Head of Product Development, Managing Director, Head of Asia Commodities, and Senior Vice President, Head of Business Development and Strategy. Prior to joining HKEx in 2010, Rebecca worked in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch and as a Legal Assistant in the Corporate Finance and Litigation groups of Skadden, Arps in Hong Kong and Washington, D.C. Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Trinity College, a master’s degree in the History of International Relations from the London School of Economics, and completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School. A passionate believer in social engagement, she consults for a variety of NGOs on their fundraising, strategic planning, and programming, and mentored young managers at Mother’s Choice for a number of years prior to joining the Executive Leadership team. Rebecca has lived in Hong Kong for over 14 years, is married to Damien, and has a young son and daughter.

  • Kit Ying Chan, Director, Services

    Kit Ying Chan oversees the organization’s services teams – Pregnant Girls Services, Child Care Home, Adoption Services. and Foster Care Services. After graduating from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology, Kit Ying was hired as the first social worker at Mother’s Choice in 1988. In 1992, she began her work with China’s state orphanages, in response to the widespread baby abandonment during that time. In 1995, she founded “Guangxi-Hong Kong Mother’s Love Orphanage”, the first joint venture between Hong Kong and China, where she pioneered a professional model for managing the orphanage and child care services, introducing foster care and specialized care for children with special needs. Kit Ying returned to Hong Kong in 2011 and continues to pioneer in this field as she leads the team to provide life transforming services for the Mother’s Choice clients who come through our door.
